• Cell Phones Banned at MMS

During school today, it became necessary to put a restriction on student use of cell phones at Maconaquah Middle School until further notice.  This is in response to TWO Instagram accounts and many posts to those accounts that have become a disruption to the educational process in the middle school.  The posts are not illegal, but they poke fun at Maconaquah Middle School students and their physical appearance.  These accounts have been active for a few days, but today students began to accuse other students of posting pics.  These accounts are being accessed on personal cell phones.  For the physical and mental safety of our students and to keep students from viewing these posts during school hours, we will not allow student use of cell phones until further notice.  The cell phone restriction applies anywhere in Maconaquah Middle School from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM.  In case of emergencies, students are permitted to use school phones to call home.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Jernagan at 765-689-9131 Ext 4000.
